Urban reconstruction groups 17th Century Municipal Police

From May to October 2013, five people (three men and two women) will be dressed up as the 17th century inhabitants of Luban. This will happen on the last Saturday of every month as a part of a  historical tour starting from the Bracka Tower and moving in the direction of the city market. Later, the "townspeople from centuries ago" will move on the Ship House and back to the Tower. On the meantime, the townsmen will distribute promotional materials. This project, called Luban's Municipality Police, is being implemented by the city of Luban, Association of Friends of Upper Lusatia and Luban's Archery Team. This ideas was pursued by reviving the city's old landscape by promoting this region and its history.
There have been many guards around the city in the early modern era. They guarded the gates and ports. Fire was burnt day and night. Typically, every gate was occupied by 1-2 guards. After some time, dozes of people were responsible for alerting the city in case of a  danger.

After some time, various towers and sections of the city dispersed. The guards were kept out of the city's treasury. They received a regular however small salary. It should be noted that the equipment used by them was owned by the city. Moreover, the city sometimes financed their clothing such as shoes, socks and gloves.
When it comes to main weapons, they used 17th century muskets that were detonated during melees. Although the guard's existence has not been confirmed in the sources, people believe that they existed based on other cities experiences. The primary equipment was known as marion, protective type (helmets). These were mentioned id city documents from 1620. Soldiers were also hired as security guards. As a result, they could use their own weapons. In terms of weapons and clothing, city guards were a little different from a simple soldier.

Luban's inhabitants who reconstruct the history during city events dress up like in the 16th and 17th centuries and as a result incorporate not only the role of guardians of the city but also members of historical productions depicting European military events. Currently the guard's uniforms are still incomplete but that will change in the near future.
